Hello.
CERA LAI / PHYSIOTHERAPIST (she/her)
I'm a physiotherapist with 10 years of clinical experience, working exclusively as a mobile practice across Melbourne.
My background is unusual for a physio. Before and alongside clinical work, I've competed in CrossFit, completed multiple Hyrox events, and competed at state and international level in Olympic weightlifting. I also have two spinal fusion surgeries behind me — 2003 and 2019 — which means I've spent a significant amount of time on the other side of the treatment table.
That combination shapes how I work. I don't separate rehab from training. I don't treat the site of pain as if it exists independently from the rest of the body. And I don't hand clients a sheet of generic exercises and call it a plan.
Each session is built around assessment, hands-on treatment, and a clear rehabilitation pathway. The goal isn't symptom management — it's understanding the root cause and building a structured path back to full function, whether that means returning to competition, recovering from surgery, or simply moving through daily life with less pain and more confidence.
I work with performance athletes managing training-related injuries, post-operative clients rebuilding at home, and elderly clients for whom mobility and independence are the priority. The mobile model isn't a compromise — for most of the people I work with, it's a better fit than a clinic.
If you're looking for a quick fix or a passive treatment approach, this probably isn't the right service. If you're prepared to put in the work between sessions, I can give you a plan that actually moves you forward.
